Hasta Cuando?

This work reflects a personal journey that contemplates both identity and purpose. As a Cuban immigrant, I have experienced the upheaval and tragedies of Communism and see these lies now being used in America. Though I don’t intend these images to be strong political statements in any way, I wanted to provide my personal, emotional state of thought that ignited this inner anxiety from my childhood experiences and inspired these images. I used the transfer process because the resulting layering seemed appropriate and ephemeral. It is my hope that the work makes a personal connection to each viewer, regardless of their background, as a relatable human experience.
